Karlis Skrastins and Oskars Bartulis camp is ongoing


Already the fourth year in turn at Jelgava Ice Hockey Hall the international hockey mastery camp by Karlis Skrastins and Oskars Bartulis for children and youth aged 7-16 takes place again. The camp gathers young ice-hockey players who want to improve their hockey play skills under the guidance of worldwide acknowledged and recognized professionals.

This summer at Jelgava Ice Hockey Hall two hockey camps will be held – from 9th to 14th and from 16th to 21st of June. Overall number applied for the camp was 189 children and 70 of them use possibility to participate in both camps. Within camp applicants there are young strivers from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Sweden, Finland, Poland, Belorussia, Russia, Ukraine, Ireland and America.

This summer, similarly to the previous year, the young players improve their knowledge together with Latvia men’s national ice hockey team player – defenseman Oskars Bartulis and foreign coaches – Vjaceslav Kuznetcov, an ice-skating specialist from Philadelphia Flyers (NHL), Tim Turk, a specialist of hockey puck control and shooting from Carolina Hurricanes (NHL) and Tampa Bay Lightning (NHL), as well as a skills development coach from Sweden – Mattiass Jonsson.

This year the team of coaches has joined also Vjaceslav Vorobyov, a coach of hockey club Donbass (KHL) who during the camp leads video coaching for children. Trainings for goalkeepers are led by Juris Klodans, a goalkeeping coach of Latvia men’s national ice hockey team and hockey club Dinamo Riga (KHL) and Lolita Andrisevska, a goalkeeping coach of Latvia women’s national ice hockey team. For the first time the training program includes also Bikram Yoga led by Kristaps Bazevics who is Latvia U-20 national ice-hockey team player and certified yoga teacher.
