With great enthusiasm and belief in the potential of the new hockey players generation the Latvia men’s national ice hockey team defensemen – Karlis Skrastins, the legendary long-term team captain, entitled as “Iron Man” at the NHL and Oskars Bartulis, one of the best new generation defensemen joined their forces in 2011 to develop youth hockey. By cooperating with specialists from the NHL, both K.Skrastins and O.Bartulis created an International hockey skill training camp for children and youth in age from 8 to 17.
Aim of the camp is to develop skills of the young hockey players in the guidance of highly evaluated and world known professionals thus increasing interest about professional hockey playing.
Time and place:
26-30.12.2022 - Inbox ice rink, Pinki - Latvia.
Agenda of the camp:
The program will include 2 ice trainings (each 1,15 h long) and one track-and-field training (puck shot technique and general athletic trainings) a day.
Special attention will be given to develop following skills:
• Stick control technique - manoeuvring, puck moving and passing;
• Correct shooting technique – shooting from still position and movement, wrist shot, snap shot and throw-ins;
• General coordination;
• Improving of skating technique – correct skating style, balance, recoil, initial speed, acceleration, turns, backwards skating, change of movement.
The camp coaches have great work experience in training starting from juniors up to professional players within NHL leagues.
