Hockey camp for children and youth by Skrastins and Bartulis has finished

Hockey camp has finished – emotions keep spilling out. On the 4th of July a hockey mastery summer camp in Jelgava organized by Karlis Skrastins and Oskars Bartulis, attended by 74 young hockey players finished after 8 days long trainings led by NHL coaches and Latvia national men’s ice hockey team defensemen.

Summer hockey camp participants were children and youngsters in age of 7 to 16 years, including youngsters from neighbor countries – Belorussia, Finland and Lithuania. The young hockey players took intense ice and track trainings and in spite of pain in their muscles, scratches and blisters they worked with maximum effort to polish their skills under the guidance of Oskars Bartulis, Karlis Skrastins and other acknowledged NHL coaches.

The camp participants were also visited by very special guests each day – Latvian hockey stars – Arturs Irbe, Peteris Skudra, Janis Sprukts, Arturs Kulda, Mikelis Redlihs, Martins Karsums, Kristaps Sotnieks, Aleksandrs Nizivijs, Rodrigo Lavins, Aigars Cipruss, Olegs Sorokins and they shared their experience and knowledge. Since hockey camp working language was English, the new hockey players had a chance to improve their English language knowledge.

Tim Turk, a coach of hockey puck control and PROshooters of the Montreal Canadiens is thrilled and enthusiastic about the achieved and about attitude of the youth, so his words about the hockey camp in overall:

“From my experience, more than ten years being in NHL, I would like to say that the time spent in Latvia and the work together with Oskars Bartulis and Karlis Skrastins during their hockey camp was absolutely phenomenal! Oskars and Karlis have created a surprisingly great team that was very organized and paid a special attention to all details. I would recommend to everyone eager to develop and amplify his or her skills and to experience a great joy to apply for the next year camp.”

Though the camp has already finished, the emotions and enthusiasm keep spilling out – according to parents social nets are going to crack from the emotions and pictures uploaded. The strong positive energy charge, satisfaction taste about the serious attitude and return of the young hockey players, the children’s eyes sparking in adoration and the words of appreciation by parents encourage the camp organizers to start planning dates for the next summer camp. The expressed interest to participate in that camp is enormous – even a whole hockey team from Finland is ready to apply for this camp.
